With huge number of pollutants from various sources, public concern over air quality has increased and these pollutants can cause adverse health effect. In Hong Kong, our daily transportation highly relies on buses. Passengers who travel by buses will queue up and wait for the buses at bus stops and terminals. The covered bus terminals have been aroused concern of their air quality as the pollutants inside the covered bus terminals cannot be dispersed as easy as those in outdoor bus terminals.
For an indoor car park, carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide are the most relevant air pollutants. Carbon monoxide blocks the absorption of oxygen may lead to dizziness and unconsciousness while nitrogen dioxide affects the lungs may lead to breathing difficulties and may cause long term damage to the lungs. The monitoring of air quality is essential to determine whether the air in the car park is fit for breathing or otherwise.
With our extensive knowledge and experience, based on Environmental Protection Department (EPD) requirements, J&J provides design in building management and monitoring system in public transport interchanges to ensure the air quality is at the safety level. We also provide monitoring equipment and conduct pre-deployment testing to further ensure safety audits. Our Expertise has been helping the designers and engineers to deliver innovative and sustainable design that reinvent the public transport interchanges environment.
